Concept2Venture®

UIC's Annual Business Plan Competition
December 19, 2006
Prizes: $20,000 cash plus in kind services valued at more than $35,000

Concept2Venture® (C2V) will be held on campus and is open to undergraduate and graduate student teams from any of UIC's 15 colleges, including teams made up of students from multiple colleges. The inaugural event will give students an opportunity to compete for awards exceeding $55,000 for their business ideas. Contestants and audience members will learn from community experts what investors want to see in a new company business plan. A distinguished panel of experts including entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, investors, and service providers will judge the entries and provide valuable feedback. Teams will be evaluated based on written business plans and 15-minute oral presentations. For details, please refer to the "Official Rules." Some teams competing in C2V® will go on to represent UIC at various regional and national business plan competitions. For details, please refer to "External Competitions."

C2V® 2006 will be open to the public and the community is encouraged to attend free of charge. The competition is hosted by UIC's College of Business Administration and the Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies and is supported through the philanthropy of dedicated donors, including UIC alumni. C2V® welcomes your participation and sponsorship.

On September 8, 2006 Entrepreneurship Professor Rod Shrader will hold the official C2V® kickoff session from 3:00 to 5:00 pm in Student Center East, Room 302. This event will include an overview of the competition, a question and answer period, and a workshop on how to write an effective business plan. To help us prepare, those interested in participating are asked to RSVP the C2V Team.
